Hi Mike, thank you for the demonstration, and as a teacher I appreciate how you explain it in sections, and advising the students also to take their time and break it down not intimidating us with your expertise.

what I like to know has nothing to do with Neil Peart or Rush. What type of sticks and size are you using, do you wrap them , and what type of snare drum are you using on the video ?

Thanks for this. I’m more of a casual drummer and tend to not get too technical with sheet music and all, but this was very insightful. I love playing this song and now will be going back and adding in the correct hi-hat notes, which I had only been doing partially correct based on my playing via ear. Rush has always been my favorite band and Neil my favorite drummer and I always enjoy hearing the respect they get from other drummers.

Finally seeing someone else play it right! So many times I’ve seen drummers not playing all those open hihats. I put alot of work into figuring out the subtle ones(the ones leading into the snare hits), not just the loud, obvious ones, while keeping that Peart tempo too, so I cringe when i hear someone miss them while supposedly teaching the “right” way to play it. Plus it sounds soooo much better! Good eye man

Mike this is great……question, what magazines do you subscribe to? I googled and there are many, many different selections. Just looking for something that has current subjects and ideas for improving playing ability with some sheet music.
